Year 6

Our Year 6 team this year are;

Mrs Rowena Cook (Year 6 representative) - Onyx class

Mr Gary Brooks - Emerald class

Mrs Pam Nagle - Amethyst class

We are supported by - Mrs Jana Littleproud

We begin the autumn term with our residential trip to CYE. Children will be engaging in a wide variety of exciting and challenging activities. Later in the term we will be awarding the prestigious roles of house captains, deputy and head boy and girl. Children are invited to apply for these positions, whereby they will use their skills to support the school in many important ways.

One of the highlights of year 6 is our WW2 topic in the Spring term. Children will be taking part in an entire day of activities linked with WW2. We will be fully immersed in the period as we dress up in WW2 clothing and try out the artefacts for ourselves.

Later in the summer term, the children will be investigating the workings of the heart, where they will be doing some exciting science-linked investigations. Along with learning about life in American and building their own tepees.

In addition to this, the summer term brings a wide range of unique experiences as the children get ready for their transition to secondary school. These include a special Chichester Cathedral service of celebration, involving schools from around the diocese, an activity day and a leavers party!
